April

After the March meeting members started cutting out the raffle quilt.  Then before the April meeting the blocks were assembled by some members.

After the April business meeting  members who stayed sewed the blocks together into rows.  And then the rows together. The border was sewn together and then sewn to the quilt later.  Now for the quilting!

Many thanks to the members who worked on our raffle quilt.   Tickets will be available soon.  Send us an email if you would like to purchase one.

March

Carolyn Watkins brought the quilt that Barbara Peel made.  We have decided to make a queen size version for our 2015 raffle quilt.

Lots of show and tell of member's talent.

After our business meeting a program followed given by Priscilla Moreland.  She showed us how she paints on fabric. Members were able to try their hand at it and see items Priscilla had made using this technique.

Installation of officers

February's meeting included installation of officers for 2015.

Right to left Jo Ellen Brown--President, Debbie Repp--1st V. President and Program Chair,  Carolyn Watkins--2nd V. President and Newsletter,  Ora Majka--Secretary, and Barbara Peel--Treasurer.

Jo Ellen Brown was presented quilt blocks made by guild members.

2015

Our January meeting brought a program by Erica Plank of Unseen Hands. She was an interesting and energetic speaker. We enjoyed her stories and her trunk show.

January also means election of officers. It was decided unanimously to keep the slate of officers with the exception of Marilynn Collins who has served us faithfully for the last three years as treasurer. Officers for 2015 are president-Jo Ellen Brown, 1st vice president-Debbie Repp, 2nd vice president-Carolyn K Watkins, Secretary-Ora Majka, and Treasurer-Barabara Peel.

Update: Bus Trip cancelled due to road conditions.  Freezing rain left roads hazardous.
Bus Trip!
February 28, 2015 we will be going to Heart of Texas One Stop Shop Hop in Waco, Texas.  We will be going by charter bus.  Cost is $50 which includes bus fare, lunch, and your admission ticket.  Please contact A & K Quilting at 940.748.2060 or Jo Ellen Brown or Debbie Repp to make payment and reserve a seat.

Mary Mitchell challenged members in December to make one item for the quilt show's country store and bring to the January meeting.

More Show and Tell

Happy Quilting til we meet again.

December

December brings our Christmas party and drawing of our raffle quilt.  In the last several years we invite past, present and interested members to our party. It is a mini reunion with lots of hugs along with show and tell and FOOD.  And speaking of food--Brenda Smith has done an awesome job this last year as our hospitality chair.  She always brings items from home to set up a charming and lovely centerpiece from her collection of quilts, antiques, and decor. Thank you, Brenda.

Lots of visiting

Marie West on the left brought this quilt to show and tell.  Her husband did the hand embroidery and she pieced them together into the quilt top.

Joyce Betty on the right and her lovely quilt

Sherry Denton brought several of her Christmas quilts.

Sherry went on a quilting cruise. One of her projects while onboard ship.

Just some of the baby quilt made by members

Sam Winover of Two Sisters Quilting brought her store for our program and shopping pleasure.

And drum roll! The winner of our raffle quilt . . . Marie New- a past member!
Congratulations, Marie
