WCQG Quilt Show

Come join us as we “Cruising Through Time” at the Wise County Quilt Guild Quilt Show and a vintage car show that will be held in Decatur at the Decatur Visitor Center, 106 S. Trinity, St.

Pre-show and reception Oct. 2nd, 2009, @ 3pm to 6pm, with a Lecture and Trunk Show by Margaret Bucklew from Chiseled in Cloth from 4pm to 5pm. Admission Free and you get a Door Prize Ticket for the Quilt show on Saturday Oct. 3rd. (You need to be present to win - The door prize for these tickets will be held at 11:30AM.)

Quilt show with judged and non-judged quilt exhibits, quilt challenge, demonstrations, antique sewing machine exhibit, bed turning, door prizes, bake sale and more. We now have 4 vendors sides up to sell their products and fabrics. Make sure you come down to meet them and see what is new and available for your next project.

Also in the Decatur Main Street Square on Oct. 3rd, 2009, will be the last Decatur Cruise Night, vintage car show, for the year.

Oct 2, 2009 Quilt Trunk Show and Lecture by Margaret Bucklew

Come and meet WCQG members and enjoy some light refreshments along with an informative lecture on Quilting. WCQG will be hosting, Margaret Bucklew - Chiseled in Cloth, for a lecture and truck show at out WCQG Quilt Pre Show, Oct 2, 2009 at 4 pm - 5pm. Admission is free.

If you every wanted to join a quilt guild or just wanted to find out more about it come join us on Oct 2, 2009 between 3 - 5pm at the Decatur Visitor Center at 106 Trinity, Decatur, Texas.

Also don't forget our Quilt Show on Oct 3, 2009 10am to 7pm, at the Decatur Visitor Center with demonstrations, bake sale, antique sewing machine exhibit, and a non-judged and judged quilt exhibits. Admission is $2.00 for the Quilt Show, there will also be a Vintage Car show in the Decatur Main Street Square that evening.

Learn something about a pastime generations before you have enjoyed, see how it cruises through time and still is used today and in the future.

We will have a judged and non-judge sections, Quilt Challenge, Quilting and Technique Demonstrations, and Antique Sewing Machine show, and so much more. Come and visit us or contact us to enter a quilt for the judged or non-judge exhibit or try the quilt challenge it will be fun.

WCQG Quilt Show

Went and visited a location for our Quilt show and it was fabulous. It has met all the criteria that was given and will provide a great venue place for our quilt show. More to come on the dates and location. Come prepared to the next guild meeting to hear all about it. --- Karen

Next Meeting

Last month we met for the first time in our new meeting place at the Church of Christ in Bridgeport, Texas. We are very thankful to the church for allowing us to use their fellowship hall for our meetings.
Our next meeting is slated for May 16, 2009. After our business meeting we are scheduled to cut charm squares from green fabric that coordinates with the fabric leftover from our donation quilt. Each member is to bring a yard of green fabric. These charm squares will be used for Rally Day.
